Whewwww….I’ll tell ya folks, that was one freakin’ INSANE day yesterday. It was so bad, it holistically reconstituted my loathing of Mondays. But first, let’s start with some good news:

My equipment hoarding/sharing/swapping buddy, Rafael “RC” Concepcion and his wife Jennifer had their first little munchkin–Sabine Annabel Concepcion–at the end of last week and the gushing new parents are glowing so bright you gotta wear shades around them. That sentence should be reworded somehow. It places RC at the forefront; whereas, it was poor Jenn that was in labor for twenty—four—freakin’—hours! That’s right!! (Well, 24 hours and 2 minutes to be precise). Sabine first laid her profound eyes on our profane world at 2:30 am on 11 Sept ‘08. Let’s wish them well and good health through the years to come.

More Good News: I passed my ACE (Adobe Certified Expert) exam for Photoshop CS3! Woohoo! Lemme tell ya what, that freakin’ test was seriously freakin’ tough. Freakin’ seriously! lol If you stared at a question too long, you could make any of the answers work. It reminded me of the A.S.E. (Automotive Service Excellence) tests I took when I was a diesel technician back in my Army days. The only thing missing from the ACE was the “Tech A says this…and Tech B says this….” Which is the correct answer? a) Tech A’s right; b) Tech B’s right; c) They’re both right; or d) Neither of them are correct type questions. Brutal. Matt Kloskowski’s “Preparing for the ACE” course on www.kelbytraining.com really did the trick! I don’t think I would have passed without that class, so thanks a ton, Matt, you’re the man! This might lead to me writing more for Photoshop User (in my copious amounts of spare time), so leave some comments on what section you’d like to see me do (it would, of course, have to be one of our in-house columns).

On to the not-so-good-if-not-relatively-comical news: Nah. You know what, yesterday is over and there’s no point in dwelling on the past. When it becomes funnier than it is painful, I’ll write about it then lol
